Legendary Bosses

Legendary Pokémon can occasionally spawn as the Raid Boss during Hard and Wildcard mode raids. They function as the rare high-value outcome of the standard raid system, giving players a chance at raid-exclusive species, Shiny Legendaries, and Hidden Abilities.

The chance for a Legendary Boss is dependent on the :shield_sapphire:Difficulty Tier, size of the raid party, and the Legendary Pity value of each party member.

Legendary Boss Chance Formula

P(Legendary)=i=1n(1+pi)nd(1bn)where n=party size,d=difficulty tier base chance denominator,pi=legendary pity of player i,bn=party-size bonus for a party of size n.\begin{aligned} P(\text{Legendary}) &= \frac{ \sum_{i=1}^{n}(1 + p_i) }{ n \cdot d \cdot (1 - b_n) } \\[0.75em] \text{where } n &= \text{party size},\\ d &= \text{difficulty tier base chance denominator},\\ p_i &= \text{legendary pity of player } i,\\ b_n &= \text{party-size bonus for a party of size } n. \end{aligned}

bn  =  {0if n=1,0.05if n=2,0.10if n=3,0.15if n=4,0.20if n=5.b_n \;=\; \begin{cases} 0 & \text{if } n = 1, \\ 0.05 & \text{if } n = 2, \\ 0.10 & \text{if } n = 3, \\ 0.15 & \text{if } n = 4, \\ 0.20 & \text{if } n = 5. \end{cases}

Legendary Pity

Each player builds Legendary Pity by completing Hard and Wildcard Raids that do not become Legendary Raids. Once a Legendary Boss is spawned, the pity values of the participating party members are reset.

Here are some example scenarios for a :shield_sapphire:Platinum raid, which has a base chance of 1400=0.25%\frac{1}{400} = 0.25\%.
